The Supervised Parenting Time Facilitator supervises family visits and provides a safe, secure environment, physically and emotionally, for children who are either in care of the Ministry for Children and Family Development or families involved in high conflict custody disputes and maintains a court ready record of all supervised visits.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide transportation for children to attend visits with families and supervise interactions between parents and their children.
  • Facilitates transitions of the child between parents.
  • Observe, monitor and objectively documents family interactions and intervene as necessary.
  • Ensure terms and conditions of the visits guidelines are being followed.
  • Encourage positive parent-child relationships
  • Assists with general care of infants/children and model safe interactions with infant/children when necessary (ex: diaper changes, bottle feeding etc.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Expertise

Demonstrated experience with Infants, Children, working with families and effective parenting skills.

Knowledge & Awareness

A genuine understanding of Child Development, substance use, effects of separation and divorce on children and effective parenting skills

Skills

Proficient in typing, use of computer oral and written communication skills.

Compassion & Empathy

A genuine desire to help others and a deep commitment to client-centered care.

Team Player

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive team environment.

Education

Hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Diploma in a related human / social services field or equivalent in education, training and experience.
