Each therapy session is usually 60 minutes in length. Counselling appointments can be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, in person- or online, depending on the client’s needs. The length of time in therapy depends on the client’s goals and individual circumstances and will be decided on in collaboration between the client and the therapist.
Each family situation is different and Crowning Life Counselling offers tailor made approaches to help our client’s specific needs. Whether Individual Counselling, Couples Counselling, Family Counselling, Supervised Parenting Time, Co-Parenting Counselling, Reunification Counselling or a View’s of the Child Report may fit your situation best, our experts are ready to advise you regarding your options to move you and your family forward.
High conflict custody disputes usually make it challenging to find a neutral supervisor that both parents agree to. The major benefit of having a professional supervisor is that a neutral party will be observing your time with your children, can offer parenting coaching if desired and write reports to the courts with information observed during your visits. This will be especially important if there is a risk that co-parents may end up arguing in front of a judge about what she says versus what he says.
When a breach occurred between a parent-child relationship, no matter the age, Reunification Therapy can assist mending the gap. Whether an adult child has broken ties or a child, after not seeing a parent for an extended period of time, resists or refuses to see that parent, Reunification Therapy works with the family system to support communication, further understanding and provide parents with a toolset for reconnecting with their children.
While specific family needs may vary, the main goal of co-parenting counselling focuses on establishing co-parenting relations that supports each parent’s relationship with the child/ren. The goals of co-parenting counselling are to reduce conflict, improve co-parenting communication and assist parents to help their children cope with stressors related to the separation and/or divorce. Co-parents are being provided with education, skills training and a tool in working collaboratively towards the wellbeing of their children.
